Poland Bars Chinese Vehicles from Entering Military Bases
In an official statement, the army outlined that entry may still be granted on a case-by-case basis, provided that designated functions are deactivated and all security protocols specific to each facility are strictly observed, media reported.
As an additional layer of protection against potential intelligence leaks, Warsaw has also prohibited personnel from connecting mobile phones to the infotainment systems of China-made vehicles — a measure aimed at closing off another possible channel for data exposure.
The Polish Army was careful to clarify, however, that the new restrictions carry a limited scope. Publicly accessible sites operating under military jurisdiction — among them hospitals, clinics, libraries, prosecutors' offices, and garrison clubs — are exempt from the ban.
Officials framed the measures as precautionary rather than punitive, emphasizing that they are consistent with protocols already adopted by fellow NATO members and allied nations committed to upholding rigorous standards for the protection of defense infrastructure.
The move reflects a growing trend among Western military powers to scrutinize the security risks posed by Chinese technology embedded in everyday consumer products, as concerns over digital surveillance and data harvesting continue to mount across the alliance.
